Management Team

Christophe Frerebeau, CEO & Co-Founder

Christophe is a co-founder of Fundspire. Previously, he was a consultant in Accenture's Systems Integration division, leading multi-national teams in designing and implementing large-scale, custom technology solutions for Finance and Insurance sector Fortune 500 companies. His background in system design, business strategy, scalability, and interactivity led to his working with Nicolas and Carlos to develop the Fundspire platform. Since Fundspire was founded in 2009, Christophe has gained an extensive knowledge of the Hedge Fund Industry Investment and Reporting best practices. Christophe has a Master's of Engineering from Telecom Paris.

Lucas Ward, CTO

Lucas is the Chief Technology Officer at Fundspire. In 7 years consulting for Accenture and ThoughtWorks, he helped large corporations in Finance, Insurance, Aviation, Pharmaceutical, Telecommunications, Logistics, Government (Federal, State, and Local) and various start-ups improve the way they use technology. Areas of focus include open source, improving programming practices and capabilities, architecture design and maintenance, and agile methodologies. Lucas also created Spring Batch, the first and only open source batch processing framework, which is part of the celebrated Spring portfolio.

Al Capulong, Managing Director and Head of Sales

Al Capulong is a Managing Director at Fundspire. As Head of Sales and Marketing, Al brings 15+ years of sales and company growth experience to his position.

Originating his sales career with large sales organizations such as Paychex, he has subsequently focused the last seven years exclusively in technology sales within the hedge fund space at two software companies: Cogency Software and Pertrac Financial Solutions (a Fundspire competitor).

At Pertrac, Al was able to help them establish their NY headquarters within his first year there. During his tenure at Cogency, the company grew - exceeding 40% in a single year. His areas of focus include: accounting systems, portfolio management, portfolio construction, due diligence, CRM, performance analytics, benchmarking, peer group analysis/management, business development and sales.

Al holds a Bachelors degree in Accounting from Long Island University and is currently an Advisory Board member for SkyRank, a patented hedge fund ranking system and hedge fund database.

Evonne Armenta, Vice President of Sales

Evonne Armenta is the Vice President of Sales at Fundspire. She brings 11+ years of Wall Street research and analytics experience working at a global investment bank, Credit Suisse First Boston, and two leading hedge fund firms, Khronos LLC and Renaissance Technologies LLC. She has worked in equity research, investment management and full-cycle software development where she used and leveraged many types of financial software systems and was recognized for her strong technology acumen. Evonne drives the sales strategy and value-based selling for Fundspire where she has profound ability to influence peers, executives and key stakeholders. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from San Francisco State University.

Board of Advisors

Nicolas Brice, CFA, Co-Founder

Nicolas has spent the last decade investing in the widely diverse world of hedge funds. As Director of Research for several fund of hedge funds, he oversees the successful sourcing, selection, portfolio construction and monitoring of various global investment products. His specialties include investment analysis, team leadership, and interdisciplinary communication.

Carlos Garcia, Co-Founder

Carlos manages a portfolio of alternative investments, including hedge funds, at a multi-family office based in New York. His specialties include quantitative analysis and portfolio management. He also has a passion for technology start-ups. Carlos graduated from MIT with a B.S. in electrical engineering and computer science in 2002.
